Account & Data Deletion

This page explains how to delete your CounselGrid account and the personal data associated with it — including data from the CounselGrid Lawyer mobile app on Google Play.

What gets deleted

  • Your user account (name, email, phone, profile settings)
  • Cases, matters, notes, and documents you created or uploaded
  • AI Copilot chat history associated with your account
  • Push notification tokens for your devices
  • Session and audit logs tied to your user ID

What may be retained

The following data may be retained for the periods set out in our Privacy Policy, Section 7:

  • Billing and payment records — retained for 7 years to meet tax and accounting obligations
  • Case files subject to Bar Council / Indian limitation requirements — retained for up to 7 years after case closure for enterprise customers operating under a DPA
  • Audit logs — retained for 3 years for security and compliance
  • Anonymised / aggregate analytics that no longer identify you

How to request deletion

Pick whichever option is easiest for you. All three produce the same result.

Option 1 — From the mobile app

  1. Open the CounselGrid Lawyer app and sign in.
  2. Go to Profile → Delete Account.
  3. Confirm. You will receive an email acknowledging the request within 24 hours.

Option 2 — By email (recommended if you cannot sign in)

Send an email from the address on your account to privacy@counselgrid.com with the subject “Account Deletion Request” and include:

  • Your registered email address
  • Your registered name
  • Which product you used (Lawyer app, Client app, or Web)
  • (Optional) Reason for deletion

Option 3 — Web form

Fill in the form below. It opens your email client with a pre-filled deletion request you can send with one click.

Timeline

  • Within 24 hours — we send an acknowledgement email.
  • Within 7 days — we verify ownership (may require confirming from your registered email).
  • Within 30 days — your account and associated personal data are deleted or anonymised, subject to the retention exceptions above.
